Este o plantă cunoscută şi populară, intensiv parfumată, a căror flori pot fi de diverse culori. Arborele are o înfăţişare neobişnuită, este foios. Ramurile sunt complet drepte, sunt destul de dese şi se rup uşor. La capătul rupturii sau la locul rănii emite un lichid alb lăptos care este toxic! Este un arbust foios cu ramuri cărnoase, înfloreşte vara şi toamna. Necesită soare! Vârful lăstarilor se taie pentru a obţine ramificaţie mai deasă. Temperatură minimă: 13°C. Este sensibil la îngheţ. Germinarea este uşoară, apariţia este aşteptată după 3-4 săptămâni.
