Picea pungens, denumit popular molidul argintiu,este un arbore originar din America de Nord. Picea pungens este o specie decorativa prin portul sau piramidal,compact. Frunzele de molid argintiu sunt persistente,aciculare,rigide,intepatoare,2-3 cm lungime,culoare alb argintiu spre albastru deschis intens. Picea pungens se planteaza solitar sau in grupuri.Molidul argintiu se poate utiliza si la garduri vii tunse intrucat suporta tunderea. Conditii de crestere Picea pungens: Este rezistent la ger si seceta; Este o specie putin pretentioasa fata de sol; Este rezistent la poluarea din marile orase; Iubeste lumina; Suporta tunderea si se poate utiliza la realizarea de gard viu tuns;
