Phoenix canariensis este un soi de palmier originar din Insulele Canare. Este o planta solitara care se poate dezvolta la o inaltime de 10-20 de metri iar ca planta de interior ajunge pana la 3 metri inaltime. Acest palmier face parte din familia Arecaceae. Frunzele sale sunt lungi si penate. Frunzele formeaza o coroana rotunda in partea superioara a trunchiului. Frunzelor au o nuanta de verde inchis. Fructele (curmale) sunt mici, rotunjite in culoarea portocalie, ele cresc sub forma de ciorchine.
